International Conference "Adriatic Historic Towns with Salt Pans" (Piran - University of Primorska, Science and Research Centre, Instiute for Mediterranean Heritage, 25.10.2013)
The conference aimed to present different Adriatic areas where important historic towns grew in connection with the exploitation of salt pans. Specific topics which have been pointed out encompass the organic evolution of such landscape complexes over the long term, traditional salt production techniques, but also issues related to the conservation, valorisation and marketing of salt pans and its products as revitalised resources for sustainable development of the surrounding areas.
