The thematic musical program "Echo of the Adriatic Sea" was organized as part of the traditional St. George Salt Fest in Piran the 26th of April 2014 by the Institute for Mediterranean Heritage of the Science and Research Centre of the University of Primorska whitin the project EX.PO AUS - Extension of Potentiality of Adriatic UNESCO Sites. Within the project we are committed to the UNESCO candidature of the salt pans of Piran!
The “The Echo of the Adriatic Sea" resounded with two groups representing the key values of the project EX.PO AUS, i.e. the cultural cohesion of the Adriatic region and the importance of valorising its heritage of outstanging value:
Klapa Brodarica, coming from Šibenik in Croatia and awarded within numerous klapa festivals, presented the tradition of the klapa music genre, which has been included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangibile Cultural Heritage of Humanity as confirmation of its outstanding universal value.
The Slovenian group Kapobanda led the audience into the magical world of the traditional music of th whole Adriatic region, hence of the counties involved in the project EX.PO AUS.
