Expected results and outputs

  • the main expected result is the achievement of an Adriatic cross-border harmonization of institutional approaches and intervention methodologies for a sustainable preservation and valorisation of the UNESCO sites of the Adriatic, coupled with the start of a strategy aimed at a joint cross-border tourism valorisation of them. 
  • This strategy is expected to significantly increase, in mid-long term, the international tourism streams towards the Adriatic euro-region.

The concrete outputs will be: 

  • design of a joint cross-border approach to sustainable valorisation of UNESCO sites (policy makers and officials touched: 400 
  • 20 local and cross-border seminars and workshops of high training on preparation of UNESCO management plan and its implementation; 
  • 1 elaboration and testing in concrete cases of each area partner of check list and/or indicators to monitor effectiveness of management process 
  • publication of 600 copies of UNESCO sites management plans (in national languages + summary in English);
  • 1 multilingual website on new knowledge and methodologies on archaeological sites preservation and restoration;
  • 1 Update Mosaic database of all mosaics belonging to cross-border territories
  • 1 Photographic campaign based on digital technologies 
  • 1 Cross-border conference on restoration of architectural decorations; 
  • 4 cross-border meetings of study and training on dry stone, historical vernacular heritage and energy efficiency of two Adriatic coasts; 
  • 2 multilingual publications, on new knowledge and methodologies on dry stone (100 copies) and vernacular heritage valorisation (100 copies);
  • 10 pilot projects: Ferrara, Dubrovnik, Split, Corfu, Piran, Alberobello, Poreč, Aquileia, Bosnia (Mostar, Blagaj, Stolac) Butrint; 
  • 1 Cross-border seminar on the results and knowledge obtained from the implementation of the pilot projects (+600 booklets produced and disseminated); 
  • 12 surveys of the state of art of each partner relating to the tourism flows toward its own site;
  • 1 survey of European and international cultural-tourism market
  • 1 realization of a high professional DVD on UNESCO sites of the Adriatic, as base for services/documentaries on TV 
  • 12 meetings with specialized magazines and TVs 
  • 1 design and testing with market operators of the cultural-tourism package “UNESCO SITES OF THE ADRAITIC” 
  • 1 project web site/portal to the online resources of the UNESCO sites of the Adriatic
